Henry, Amelia and Alice Hunter. 1931, Tom Hunter, married to Celia Baptiste. 1921, Henry and Fred Hunter with Sam Baptiste make up the Baptiste band.

1936, I.B.& O. train coming into Baptiste from Highland Grove. The 3 ladies in the lower right corner are 3 of "Mac Bartlett's" sisters. Mac is on their left side on the hill (age 14). Tne Bartlett's lived in the Tin House beside Grants in the 30's. "Mac" past away last year at 84 years old. He was a great source of history of this area. Another great picture of the Laundry family.

The man standig in the engine is George Grant. (Mabel's brother) He worked on the railroad for many years Remember the sign "Mrs E. Grant & Son" in the store. He was the son. The 2 other men are Sam Hancock and Frank Sprung. The lady on the right is Myrtle Sears (mother of Dwight Sears who works at the Marina.) The Baptiste rail station sign is still on the lake owned by a local cottager. 1965, Mabel and Cliff Poff with the old train station to the left.

Wes Summers, owener of the "The Chalet" lodge in Baptiste Village. The lady on the left is Mrs. Annie Bartlett(Mac Bartlett's mother.) Next a boy named ?? Sweet, Mrs. Lizzie Grant ,and Mrs.Young. These ladies were sisters, Lizzie at the store, Mrs.Bartlett in the tin house and Mrs.young next door to the east where the Holbrook's new house is (grey brick). Sam Baptiste

1934, the Grant family. Left to right: Freeman Grant--Susie(Grant) Barber--Hiram Grant--Isabel(Grant)Coe--Lubelle McKenzie--Lizzie Grant. Susie (Grant) Barber is the only one alive and owns the little white cottage behind the store. Sam Baptiste and friends. Blanche Sears, Tom Stoughton is from another native family on the lake and Sam Hancock was a boyhood friend of Sam Baptiste and lived with the Baptistes. John Alexander Baptiste
